Nancy Isime, a media personality and actress from Nigeria, has sparked online debate by donning the hijab.
The actress shared photos from a recent trip to Kano, where she was wearing a green suit and a headscarf.
Some of her followers commented on her Instagram post asking if the actress, who is Christian, had converted to Islam after she posted the images.
@officialjet1: “Have you converted to Islam? A Muslim woman will never dress like a Christian, not even when she visits your home. Try to be who you are and quit selling your pride.”
@ramsey ng: “This is why the north deserved to have their own president; at least people will abide by their morals by dressing appropriately and abiding by their laws in respect of their culture and religion instead of using their own affairs to influence the rest of the world because of their own beliefs.
@delaniaai: “Wow, that’s going to be great. @nancyisimeofficial, you look stunning in the hijab if you convert to Islam. nursem.o: Masha’Allah, it is beautiful.
“The empress of Kano for real for real they LOVE YOU!!!!” tweeted @jemimaosunde. Really much! Everyone loves you.
@kingevers joy: “Sorry, I’m not trying to, but I sell supplements and vitamins, and by the way, Nancy, it’s nothing new; you always look breathtaking.”
