Destined trip
Dr. Otiko’s medical career felt predestined. At five, he wanted a doctor’s kit for his birthday; only future doctors do this.
During his early life, Nigerian Dr. Christopher Otiko travelled the world. Football was his refuge after moving to the U.K.U.K. at a young age.
Too much devotion for the sport caused several foot injuries, which made young Otiko realise. Foot and ankle specialist became a lifelong goal.
Our hero had other motivations. He was also concerned about diabetics’ poor wound care, which led to terrible amputations.
During his U.S.U.S. medical school, he grew passionate about helping people with diabetes.
Dr. Otiko, a Diabetic Foot Specialist with a Master of Science in Biochemistry, became an entrepreneur.
Otiko’s enthusiasm and ambition didn’t quit after achieving the impossible. Dr. Otiko expanded his healthcare business due to his entrepreneurial attitude.
He ran a medical equipment company and co-founded a wound care management company.
This innovative project applied A.I.A.I. to wound care, improving outcomes and giving patients hope. He was unstoppable!
His Ingenuity
After eight years of failures and perseverance, the day we arrived. In 2008, Vitastem, an FDA-registered medicine for diabetic therapy, entered the U.S.U.S. market, making the doctor a pharmaceutical industry star.
Vitastem, a 55ml topical antibiotic, destroys Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Other than diabetic wounds, it treats bacterial infections from eczema, psoriasis, acne, cuts, and more.
Dr. Otiko founded ViaDerma Company, a publicly traded firm, as MD/CEO because he believed in his invention.
Vitastem, a powerful diabetes therapy, was FDA-approved.
Finally, amputation could be avoided.
He is a medical powerhouse with over 20 years of podiatry experience. Dr Otiko wanted more than practice.
He had many healthcare firms due to his entrepreneurial zeal.

Dr. Otiko’s purpose drove him to share his knowledge and abilities outside the U.SU.S. Although leaving Nigeria over 30 years ago, he strongly needed to contribute.
He set out to register Vitastem with Nigeria’s NAFDAC.

Dr. Otiko also writes and enjoys comedy. He wrote “Lost in U.S.A.U.S.A.” on his early years abroad.
He shared his unique perspective and preserved those precious moments.
