Dr. Orji Kalu, a former governor of Abia State and chief senate whip, has expressed sorrow over the loss of prominent businesswoman and politician Senator Annie Okonkwo.
When Kalu learned the sad news, he was surprised and regretted the businessman’s passing.
The former governor claimed that Okonkwo was crucial to Nigeria’s social, economic, and political progress.
“I grieve the demise of Senator Annie Okonkwo, who represented Anambra Central Senatorial district in the sixth assembly, with a sad heart and pain,” he stated.
“The late politician was modest, affable, trustworthy, selfless, and kind. His entire life was devoted to serving both God and people.
“The late Senator will always be recognised for his outstanding character traits. His absence will be felt deeply.
Kalu prayed for the deceased’s ultimate repose while urged the Okonkwo family to continue the honourable legacies of their late patriarch.
The former governor also extended his heartfelt sympathies to the Anambra state administration and populace for the tragic loss.
