On Friday, the Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) said the most honourable thing for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu to do was to present himself to security authorities over electoral fraud claims.
The party also encouraged Adebutu to cease giving his supporters false optimism, reiterating that his alleged crimes during the previous vote will be taken to a logical end in the competent court of law to dissuade others.
Adebutu’s media remark raised questions about the state’s recent gubernatorial election, citing Gbenga Daniel’s role. Ogun APC responded.
The party’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Olusola Ogunsanya Blessed, told reporters in Abeokuta that Adebutu’s speech was intended to cover up crimes and shift the narrative.
According to Adebutu’s testimony, the PDP chairman and Daniel must have been humiliated by the exposure of their alleged antics and plot during the previous general election.
“While Adebutu, in his cognitively impoverished piece dripping with vile abuse, failed woefully to defend the fact that Gbenga Daniel, against good conscience, worked for him and his party, the PDP, and betrayed the party that gave him a ticket and even sponsored him to emerge as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he tried to be clever by half by denying the allegation of bribery levelled against the former Ogun Governor with overwh
For every discerning political watcher, it is crystal clear that Adebutu and Daniel were seriously embarrassed by the public exposure of their atrocities, and so the bribery, criminal conspiracy, and money laundering suspect currently hibernating in a foreign country resorted to defending the indefensible and further exposing the astounding degree of moral decadence and perfidy that defines their relationship.
Adebutu’s “very affluent guy in his own right” defence shows how shallow he is despite his age. Unfortunately, his highfalutin and phoney thinking resists critical reasoning.
“It is even more infantile for the PDP guber candidate to ignorantly name his father and Gbenga Daniel as benefactors of Governor Dapo Abiodun, astutely elevating beer parlour gossip and stupid innuendos as means of public engagement.
“On the issue of performance and reelection of Governor Dapo Abiodun, it is surprising that a man like Oladipupo Adebutu, who is irredeemably indolent and mortally afflicted with mental laziness, could accuse any government of non-performance and corruption, when he lacks the intellectual stamina to do a thorough assessment of government policies and activities”.
Adebutu was also accused of shamelessly compromising the voting process and engaging in electoral malpractices and money laundering.
It said that Governor Dapo Abiodun had the people behind him and had settled for administration, encouraging Adebutu to gather strength and return home to face punishment.
Adebutu’s treatise’s most important topic is Governor Dapo Abiodun’s popularity. Why did Adebutu and his accomplices collude with Zenith Bank to issue 200,000 ATM verve credit cards preloaded with N10,000 to bribe the State’s voters if Governor Dapo Abiodun was unpopular and couldn’t have won the March 18th poll?
“A popular candidate would only have carefully watched his votes as Governor Dapo Abiodun did, not sunk so low as to take the road of crime, audaciously breaking the integrity of the election process like Adebutu and the PDP did.
Eventually, if Adebutu is who he says he is, he should return home and face the security authorities. He should not deceive his naive supporters now.
“And to be sure, the people of Ogun State are firmly behind their Governor, and are extremely confident that the Tribunal will soon return their stolen votes by Adebutu and the PDP via huge rigging,” the statement said.
