The initial batch of Nigerian students stuck in the war-torn Sudan arrived in Nigeria.
On Tuesday night, at about 11:30 p.m., students evacuated from Egypt by a Nigerian Air Force aircraft landed at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.

The students on board the Air Peace jet are scheduled to arrive at 11:13 p.m., according to Nanso Ezekiel, a spokeswoman for the National Disaster Management Agency (NEMA), while the Nigerian Air Force is scheduled to arrive at 11:45 p.m.

According to a source on the WhatsApp messaging app, the authorities provided the returnees with N7000 tokens to meet their immediate requirements.

The insider claimed that the preparations for the arrival were well-planned and in order.

The Egyptian border, where a voice message allegedly said they were requested to pay before entering the nation, is where a group of students and civilians are purportedly stuck.

However, a worried parent wrote, “Salaam alaikum, I just spoke with my daughter, who is also a student at Wadi Halfa.

She assured me that they were nearing the Egyptian border, where they planned to spend the night in a bus on the border’s property.

She also said they weren’t asked for kobo and were permitted to enter the building.

The man who left an audio message said that the bus that brought them left right away, that they had paid, and that they would be permitted entry into the border facilities. So they were left stranded without a bus to transport them, the author said.
