Jalingo, – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Dr Mark Useni of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Taraba’s Ussa, Donga, and Takum federal constituency supplementary election held on Saturday.

Prof. Luka Juma, the INEC Returning Officer, revealed the results in Jalingo on Sunday.

According to Juma, Useni received 25,929 votes to defeat his nearest challenger, Mr Riman Shawulu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), who received 25,350 votes, and Mr Istifanus Gbana of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 20, 234 votes to finish third.

INEC ruled the Feb.25 election inconclusive after canceling results in the Takum and Ussa Local Government Areas (LGAs) due to anomalies, prompting Saturday’s poll.

Addressing to reporters immediately after his victory, Useni extended his hands of fellowship to his opponents, inviting them to join hands with him to better serve the people.

He promised to prioritize the security issues impacting his constituents.

INEC also recognized Mr Anas Shuaibu of the All Progressives Grant Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the Karim 11 state constituency seat. (NAN)
