On Thursday night, a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) drove off the road and smashed into a business in Egbu, on Owerri – Umuahia Road, Owerri North Local Government, Imo State. The collision killed three people who were out shopping.
In addition, both the business owner and numerous bystanders were hurt. They were sent to a neighboring hospital for medical treatment.
According to witnesses, the driver fled quickly after the collision, but the passenger was unable to flee, causing the crowd to capture and deliver him over to the police.
“We were out there, about 7 p.m. in Egbu, when a Lexus Jeep on top speed suddenly veered off the road and smashed into that business,” the witness stated. It murdered three people who had come to buy some stuff. Numerous people were hurt and transferred to a nearby hospital.
The shop’s owner was also hurt, and her business was ruined. The driver escaped, but his companion was apprehended and turned over to the police.”
