Bimbo Ademoye, a Nollywood actress, is presently receiving positive feedback for her performance in the newly released ‘Gangs of Lagos,’ but she had her heart set on a different part.

The Jade Osiberu film, starring Tobi Bakre, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Chike Osebuka, Chioma Akpotha, and Iyabo Ojo, debuted on Amazon Video on April 7, 2023.

Ademoye plays Teni, the refined and sheltered daughter of a ganglord, Kazeem (played by Olarotimi Fakunle).

During a press event before of the film’s release, the actress said that she originally intended to portray the gangster role, Gift, played by Etomi-Wellington.

She explained, “When I first read the screenplay, I saw a certain character, Gift, destroying bottles. I’m from the hood, from Ebute Metta, where shattering bottles is the norm. I assumed I was going to be Gift, but then I realized I was playing Teni.”
