The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its determination to seize control of Lagos State in the upcoming 2027 elections. This declaration comes as the opposition party initiates steps to reconcile all internal conflicts ahead of the general election.

Chief Bode George, a prominent figure within the PDP, revealed this intention during an interview on AriseTV on Tuesday night. George attributed the party’s previous challenges in Lagos State to a weakened structure and the absence of a unifying leader.

However, recent efforts have been made to address these issues. A reconciliatory meeting was convened last Wednesday in Ikeja to bring together key stakeholders of the party. The emphasis of the gathering was on forgiveness and unity to bolster the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.

Highlighting the ongoing efforts to unite the party, George expressed optimism about the progress being made. While acknowledging lingering grievances among some members, he noted the significant strides achieved through the reconciliation process.

“In any organization, particularly a political party, turbulence often follows electoral losses. However, our party and its leadership have been proactive in convening discussions to analyze our setbacks,” George remarked.

He elaborated on the importance of identifying loyal members, evaluating performance, and addressing any elements working against the party’s interests. George commended the recent meeting chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in Ibadan, which showcased leadership unity across the Southwest region.

George concluded by affirming that the ongoing efforts to position the party for success in the 2027 elections have been fruitful. This highlights the dedication of party leaders to rise above internal divisions and focus on collective advancement.
