INEC has pledged to hold a free, fair, and credible governorship election in Imo State on November 11, 2023.

The Commission told Imo, voters it would stay impartial and fight any attempt to compromise standards during the poll.

REC Prof. Sylvia Agu, represented by Ms. Emmanuela Opara, Imo INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity Department, assured Labour Party members who peacefully protested at the Commission offices in Owerri on Thursday.

She claimed the state would have free and fair elections. Due to its off-cycle nature, other RECs will participate.

“The BVAs will operate well. Our BVAS has always succeeded, and I guarantee a credible state election.

The LP demands the expulsion of the Imo INEC REC and a free, fair, and credible guber poll on November 11.
