During a book event in Ilorin, former Minister of Sports Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi and Turaki of Ilorin Mallam Saliu Mustapha reunited.

Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), intervened in the fierce political struggle between PDP and APC senatorial aspirants.

During the launch of Mallam Abubakar Imam’s latest book, “Ilorin Emirate Frontliners,” the two politicians were hugging. Mustapha subsequently won the election.

He said the book exhibits extraordinary literary skill and presents an insightful and detailed account of the major figures who have contributed to the growth and prosperity of the Ilorin Emirate.

He pledged to turn the book into a documentary for worldwide distribution and an audio version for popular radio shows.

Vice President Third-Estate Barrister Hakeem Mustapha (SAN) gave N2m for the book and praised the author for the historic literary accomplishment.

Professor Suleiman Ambali’s book’s launch raised around N20m.

Professor Oba Abdulraheem, Hon. Moshood Mustapha, Waziri Yakubu Gobir, and former Environment Minister Hajiya Halima Alao were among the dignitaries who gave generously.

According to PRNigeria, the book profiles prominent Ilorin Emirate inhabitants.

The author wrote the book to record, preserve, and honour over 300 renowned Ilorin Emirate natives and inhabitants.

Mallam Imam, the Associate Editor of UNILORIN BULLETIN, the University of Ilorin’s official weekly news journal, stated he decided to write the book to preserve the accomplishments of chosen Ilorin Emirate natives for future generations.

He told PRNigeria that the endeavour aims to immortalise Ilorin Emirate’s contributions to national and human development.
