Former Arsenal player Theo Walcott has suggested that his former club should consider signing Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins during the upcoming transfer window.

Walcott drew parallels between Watkins and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, endorsing him as a potential addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

With Arsenal aiming to strengthen their attacking options this summer, Walcott hinted at Watkins as a suitable candidate. Speaking on Premier League Productions, he remarked, “Looking at their current goal statistics, it’s likely they’ll invest in a striker. And that player could have been on the opposing side last weekend.”

When asked if he was referring to Watkins, Walcott confirmed, “Yes, indeed. I believe he’s the kind of player Arsenal would consider. What impresses me most about Ollie Watkins is his versatility. Although he’s primarily a forward, his playing style resembles that of a winger.”

He went on to pay Watkins a high compliment and compare him to Thierry Henry, one of Arsenal’s most iconic players.
