Divine Ikubor, best known by her stage name Rema, is a Nigerian rapper and singer who the Guinness World Records have recognised.
With his worldwide hit song “Calm Down,” the singer from Benin reached the landmark. It was the first No. 1 hit on The Official MENA Chart, the first regional streaming chart in the history of the globe.
Guinness World Records published a statement on its website publicly congratulating the singer for reaching the extraordinary milestone.
According to the announcement, Rema was recognised for having the first number-one hit on both
the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s first official chart and the world’s first regional streaming chart.
Rema’s “Calm Down” debuted at No. 1 on November 29, 2022, when the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) first introduced the MENA Chart.
The song dominated the charts for more than two months.
He has now joined Wizkid and Femi Kuti as Nigerian musicians with Guinness World Records.
