The Reverend Father was abducted in the state’s Kauru Local Government Area in Karku.

Father Yakubu was taken from the parish rectory in Kauru at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, according to a statement by Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.

The chancellor urges the parishioners to refrain from enforcing their own rules while also urging fervent prayer for the victim’s speedy and safe release from his kidnappers.

He reassured the congregation that the church would employ all legal means to secure the Reverend Father’s swift release from captivity.

The Kaduna police authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
