Governor Umahi also expressed surprise at the Labour Party’s success in the presidential elections, adding that he did not believe the opposition party had a chance.

He stated, ”

“I was astounded; even inside my own family, there was a plot against me.” I had no idea they voted for Peter Obi, but in the other election, they voted for APC because of what we’ve done in the state.”

He also expressed astonishment at President Muhammadu Buhari’s and Bola Tinubu’s defeats in their respective states.

The Senator-elect described Obi’s large support during the election as a “protest vote.” “Because to the country’s difficulties, I am opposed to the party.

Governor Umahi, according to Sahara Reporters, stated:

“In all honesty, I didn’t give the Labour Party a chance to win any election in my state (Ebonyi State) because what we put in place was such that no other political party should be able to win anything, not even councillorship elections in my state.”

“I interpreted the Labour Party vote as a protest against my party (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party” (PDP).

“This was not a vote for His Excellency Peter Obi.” As a result, there appear to be hardships and obstacles in Nigeria.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) won the presidential election with Bola Tinubu as their candidate, with 8,794,726 votes.
