On Tuesday, Rivers governor Siminilayi Fubara distributed portfolios to his 14 candidates selected by the state House of Assembly for service as commissioners.
The health portfolio was given to Mrs. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh (née Odili), a doctor and the first daughter of the previous governor Peter Odili, according to the list made public by the Rivers state administration.
As Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, a post he held in the administration of outgoing Governor Nyesom Wike, Prof. Zachaus Andango was reappointed.
Moreover, the portfolios for Education, Finance, and Works were given to Prof. Chinedu Mmom, Lawyer Isaac Kamalu, and Alabo Dax George Kelly.
Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, the most recent Chief of Staff to Governor Wike, was named Commissioner for Special Projects. At the same time, Mrs. Inime Chinwenwo Aguma kept her position as Commissioner for Social Welfare & Rehabilitation.
Others include Dr. Roseline Adawari Uranta, who has been named to lead the Ministry of Women Affairs, Hon. Henry Ogiri, who oversees the Ministry of Power, and Dr. Kenneth Chisom Gbali, who oversees youth development.
Moreover, Chris Green was named Commissioner of Sports, a position he previously held.
Mr. Uchechukwu Nwafor works for the Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources, while Dr. Jacobson Nbina is the transportation commissioner.
