Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, appealed for cooperation on Saturday in Enugu to put a stop to the Southeast geopolitical zone’s “sit-at-home” order that was issued by the outlawed Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) on Monday.

On his first media appearance, he said that “enemies of Igboland” were behind the decree.

Mbah called for coordinated efforts by the media and the people of Enugu State to put a stop to scaremongering and the distribution of false information, which he characterised as IPOB’s most recent tactic.

“Due to reenergised security measures, they have lost their ability to cause havoc on lives and property as was previously the case,” he stated.

The governor said Enugu State had won the battle against “sit-at-home” enforcers and would never submit to commands from “murderers and foes of Igboland.”

Mbah said that if the populace kept wasting their energy on nameless marauders, Enugu State would not develop into the top location for investments, residences, and tourism.

He pleaded with the people of Enugu State not to be duped by those using IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s name as a pretext for their crimes.

The governor emphasised that Kanu has voiced his discontent with the implementation of the ” sit-at-home ” order and the resulting chaos in Igboland.
