Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that the party won the 2023 Nasarawa State gubernatorial election and will defend its mandate.

He said this at a weekend reception in Lafia for APC Nasarawa State Chairman Hon. Aliyu Bello.

Ganduje, represented by Alhaji Muazu Rijau, National Vice Chairman (North Central), said the party would defend its mandate in Nasarawa state.

“We won the election and will defend our mandate without a doubt. APC and Nasarawa State are related. We are in charge, and God will keep us in charge, Ganduje said.

The State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, his immediate predecessor, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, and Nasarawa West Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, among others, praised Hon. Aliyu Bello’s leadership at the crowded event.

Sule sees Hon. Aliyu Bello as a politician who can lead the APC to help his administration achieve its state vision.

According to the Governor, the defunct Congress Progressives Change (CPC), which later became the APC, brought real development to Nasarawa State in 2011.

The real development in Nasarawa State began in 2011. It was then that we saw a potential development. Development in education, health, infrastructure, and roads. Forward-looking development

“APC has a vision, experience, commitment, and love for our state and its people. More importantly, we fear Allah.

“That is why since we started, Nasarawa has developed in education, infrastructure, and more, and we now have a northern state with oil in Obi Local Government Area.

“We worked hard to drill oil. To find more oil reserves, we promoted exploration.

“We now believe that no reserve in the northern part of the country is as large as Keana, Obi, and Assakio.”

“And by God’s grace, the same APC government will develop that well to full potential for Nasarawa State’s people.”

We visited Nasarawa LGA two or three days ago. We laid stones for Africa’s largest lithium processing factory, 18,000 metric tonnes per day, in Nasarawa LGA.

Lithium powers electric cars, phones, and car batteries for those unfamiliar. The high demand for lithium drove its price up from $6,800 to $78,000.

“Nasarawa has one of the nation’s highest reserves. We have three lithium-only factories in Uke, Nasarawa, and Endo for this reason.

The Governor said Aliyu Bello arrived at the right time to unite and strengthen the APC.

“Aliyu Bello reunited this party. My greatest joy as Governor will come when I hand over to another APC governor. That day, I’ll be the happiest man on Earth. Aliyu Bello alone cannot do it only if we all cooperate with him.

He can do it, no doubt. We cannot all be senators, governors, House of Assembly members, or Speakers, but we can make our party great by working together.

The presence of everyone I’ve seen here helps us achieve our goals. The truth is that Aliyu Bello is APC. He said APC is Nasarawa State and Nasarawa is APC.

Senator Tanko Al-makura, Nasarawa State’s immediate past Governor, sent a goodwill message saying Aliyu Bello’s trajectory and pedigree made him the best APC Chairman at this time.

We are fortunate to have Aliyu Bello at this stage of party development. This person has decades of political and administrative experience. Since college and entering the party mainstream, he has been an insider, team player, and loyal friend.

Our party will benefit from his philanthropy as Chairman, which will rally support. The former Governor said Aliyu Bello had been an engine of many political activities, but now he is the APC’s Nasarawa State engine.

While urging party members to support the APC Chairman, Senator Al-makura urged the public to avoid rumour-mongering and party disunity.

I also request that we work together. Let’s avoid rumours and disunity.

“We have been together, we are together, and if we love this state, if we love this party, we should continue to be one strong, united family,” he said.

APC State Chairman Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada represents leadership because it’s about service. Leadership is about loyalty.

Leadership is about commitment and sharing. Leadership involves sharing everything. Share your wealth, riches, knowledge, love, and pocket. Aliyu Bello represents these, he said.

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi said the legislature will support the party under Hon. Aliyu Bello and Governor Sule until 2027.
