Olumide Akpata, a former leader of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has left his position as Senior Partner at the legal firm Templars.

According to a statement from the law firm dated August 24, the former NBA President officially informed the business’s other partners and management of his desire to become involved in active politics.

Akpata said that his choice to resign is consistent with the firm’s governance guidelines.

Akpata and the company agreed that he would leave the company starting on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

According to the company, he could completely concentrate on his objective of helping improve the country.

Although acknowledging Akpata’s important contribution to the firm’s expansion, the company stated that its approximately 100 attorneys, who are overseen by 20 other partners and operate out of offices in Nigeria and Ghana, would continue to represent its customers.

Recall that Akpata recently joined the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State and indicated that he wanted to run for governor in the next election.

On explaining his decision to enter politics, Akpata recently said that he did so because he had become weary of always whining about Nigeria.

He continued by saying that he decided to stop worrying about the issue and try to be the solution.
