Proteins serve as the building blocks for enzymes, hormones, and muscle. Protein also helps keep our skin looking fresh and encourages healthy skin and hair creation.

Because it takes longer to digest and is less likely than simple carbs to raise blood sugar levels, eating a lot of protein is beneficial if you watch your calorie intake.

Several foods, in addition to seafood like tuna and salmon, are high in protein:

Tofu is referred to as awara in northern Nigeria. Eight grams of protein are included in three ounces of tofu. Tofu is a fantastic source of protein since it is created by pressing condensed soy milk into solid, white blocks, much like cheese.

These tiny marine organisms have a very high protein content. These shellfish may provide more than 17 grammes of protein in only four ounces. Shrimps also have less fat, calories, and mercury.

Greek yoghurt, which has more protein than regular yoghurt, offers much more protein than an egg. Make a parfait with berries and oats, or add probiotic-rich yoghurt to your smoothie for a delightful dinner.

In Nigeria, almonds are quite prevalent. Almonds are high in fat, but the fat is heart-healthy, so it’s beneficial for you, fills you up, and makes you less likely to feel hungry. Also, they include a lot of protein—six grams each one-ounce meal.

Three ounces of turkey provide 26 grammes of protein. Turkey may be used in burgers, stir-fries, sandwiches, salads, and other dishes and eaten alone or with other foods.
