FIFA prohibits Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr from signing up new players due to the transfer of Ahmed Musa

Al Nassr is prohibited from signing new players by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).

The team still needs to pay add-ons due to the Ahmed Musa agreement.

The CAS ruled in favour of Leicester after Musa triggered €460k in performance-related add-ons between 2018 and 2020. Still, sources claim that Al Nassr disregarded the decision and refused to reimburse Leicester for the add-ons.

Al Nassr’s disregard for the decision led to the registration ban. According to reports, the suspension might only last a few weeks if Cristiano Ronaldo’s squad makes the payment on time, which they have already committed to doing.

After striking a significant agreement with Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, Saudi Arabian teams have aggressively pursued stars this summer.

Many players have joined Saudi teams this summer, and Al Nassr just completed the signing of Marcelo Brozovic from Inter for only €18 million as they want to improve their midfield and contend for the title next year.

Hakim Ziyech’s contract with Chelsea was on the verge of being signed, as had been rumoured weeks before, but his agreement was derailed when he failed the physical. Al Nassr is reportedly prepared to make fresh deals this summer and dance to the CAS decision.

Musa failed to have an effect after being acquired by Leicester in 2016 for a then-club-record £16.6 million cost.

The following season, he was returned on loan to CSKA Moscow with just two goals in 21 Premier League appearances.

He later moved to Al Nassr, where he scored 14 goals in 62 games across all competitions and assisted them in winning the 2019 league championship.

In 2021, the Nigerian international joined Kano Pillars in his own country before returning to Europe and signing with Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk.

In other developments, Kanyi Daily reported that a federal court in the United States has sentenced Nigerian big boy Jacob Olalekan Ponle, also known as Woodberry, to eight years and three months in prison for planning a multimillion-dollar scam.
