Dr. Ben Nwoye, the immediate past Chairman of the All Congress APC in Enugu State, gave the sixteen finest graduating secondary school students in the state fifty thousand naira each and pushed young Nigerians to get involved in politics.
“As prospective leaders of tomorrow you cannot run away from politics,” Nwoye said at a one-day Student Summit for students from Nkanu West and East federal constituency at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Agbani in Nkanu West Council area of the state.
I envision future Nigerian presidents, governors, ministers, commissioners, and other senior political figures among you.
The Federal Commissioner representing South East in the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, who lectured on “Political Participation,” advised young students to avoid any social vices that could wreck their life.
“Be responsible to succeed in life. You can only achieve your dreams if you work hard in school.
“Everyone here is a born leader who God has blessed with varied talents, and that is why you must not joke with study, you must genuinely stay away from crime and all negative deeds.
ESUT 400-level Medical Laboratory Science students organised the event.
Miss Egbo Mmesoma (SOMA) launched a book, “Health Awareness Education: Our Role towards Global Healthy Living,” which was given to nearly 300 students at the ceremony.
Nwoye indicated that gift money to the best-graduating students was meant to motivate them to study hard.
The Local Government Chairman of Nkanu West, Hon. Uchenna Ejim, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor DVC of ESUT, prof. Chike Nwoha, Prince Lawrence Ezeh, former Special Adviser to Ex-Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Information Barri Steve Oruruo, and others attended the event.
