The All Progressives Congress members, APC, who suffered varying degrees of damage during the April 15 run-off election in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, have claimed that the party abandoned them.

According to reports, the APC supporters were hurt while fighting with their party’s opponents.

The bulk of the victims were said to have suffered serious injuries, and because of their precarious financial situations, they were unable to pay for medical care.

Mohammed Sani Takori, one of the victims, whose home was also completely demolished, expressed his regret that a party like the APC did not value its members’ moral obligations.

Takori, a former member of the House of Representatives, questioned why APC members and supporters could not morally and financially support the victims.

He continued, “It is amazing that nobody cared to look after us after we completely backed the APC candidate, Ahmad Usman Lancaster, during which we were gravely hurt.

He claimed that most of the victims could not seek medical care because of their dire financial circumstances.

He bemoaned the cavalier attitude of the APC leadership in the State, noting that important players like former governors Bello Matawallle and Abdul’Aziz Yari were unable to visit the victims.

Takori pleaded with the APC’s national leadership to step in and urge the state chapter and other important parties to take the necessary action by visiting the victims.
