Mohammed Bago’s Childhood
On February 22, 1974, Mohammed Umar Bago was born in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria.

Bago’s academic career is the ideal illustration of his passion for learning and development. He entered the prestigious Federal Government College in Jos after completing his studies at Minna’s Marafa Primary School.

After completing secondary school, Bago received his West Africa School Certificate from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

Bago earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Usman Danfodio University in Sokoto.

His pursuit of many master’s degrees and postgraduate diplomas showed his unrelenting dedication to learning.

Career
Mohammed Umar Bago began his career as a financial employee with Afri-Bank PLC, First City Monument Bank, and United Bank for Africa (UBA).

Intending to support the public and enhance Nigerian society, Bago joined politics in 2007.

In Nigeria’s 2019 elections for the ninth National Assembly, Mohammed Bago ran for Speaker of the House of Representatives. After losing his job, he remained committed to advancing his political goals and correcting claimed leadership errors related to zoning.

Bago presently serves as the House Committee on Marine Safety, Education, and Administration chair.
