Drugs, food items, and a suspect are seized by NDLEA in Lagos.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) found 126 packets of Canadian loud in imported autos and food at Akuskura plant.

Mordi Samuel, a goods agent, was detained at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, for trying to export 900 grammes disguised in luggage.

NDLEA agents at Tincan port in Lagos confiscated 126 packets of Canadian Loud, a synthetic cannabis strain, totalling 63 kg.

On Saturday, April 29, NDLEA officers stopped a goods agent, Mordi Chukwuemeka Samuel, from exporting 900 grammes of Loud, disguised within a food bag, to Kenya.

When Mordi produced the bag, which he said contained food products for export, operators saw that the side walls of the bag were unevenly swollen. They removed the fake packing and found the illegal material.

On Friday, April 28, NDLEA agents at Tincan port confiscated 63kg of Canadian Loud in bags in the boot of one of five used automobiles in a container designated TLLU4840762 from Toronto via Montreal. On Thursday, April 27, DOGI agents linked to courier businesses confiscated 1.53kg of skunk hidden in obsolete hard drives destined for Dubai, UAE.

In Benue, operatives recovered 859 bottles of Codeine-based Syrup weighing 117.3kg abandoned by a suspected dealer about two kilometres away from NDLEA checkpoint along Enugu – Otukpo road on Wednesday, April 26, while two suspects, Kabiru Muhammed, 35, and Ilsah Muhammed, 28, were arrested with 20 blocks of cannabis weighing 11.2kg concealed in a bag of cassava flakes (garri) along Zaria-Kano road, Kano on Friday, April 28.

Seven bags of cannabis weighing 74.5 kilogrammes were found in an unfinished building in a bush in Ala Town, Akure Area of Ondo State, and 60 kilogrammes were found in two jumbo sacks from Aminu Mohammed while he was waiting to board a vehicle to Kebbi State.

On Saturday, April 29, NDLEA agents stormed a secret facility in Mubi, Adamawa state, where a new psychoactive chemical, Akuskura, was being mass-produced and supplied to Chad, Cameroon, and Niger Republic. The raid occurred during production.

NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) commended the officers and men of MMIA, Tincan, DOGI, Kano, Ondo, Oyo, Benue, and Adamawa Commands for their vigilance and professionalism in the discharge of their duties and urged them and their colleagues nationwide not to rest on their oars.
