Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State has been asked by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) not to permit his adversaries to convert the state into a crisis location.
If he permits his adversaries to turn the state into a crisis theatre, IPOB has pledged to make life difficult for him in Enugu State.
The demand was made by IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, who also denounced the detention of certain people who were involved in the Biafra Day event in Enugu State.
Powerful issued a statement that includes the following excerpt: “We are asking the incoming governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mba, to shine his eyes so that the Nigerian government, through his political opponents, would not convert the calm state of Enugu into a theatre of turmoil.
“We would make it difficult for him to rule Enugu State if he enables the enemies to utilise him against IPOB.
“We, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement and family worldwide, under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s direction and control, strongly condemn the Nigerian military’s attack on peaceful IPOB members who were attending a candlelight memorial service for Biafra heroes and heroines at Emene, Enugu State, on the evening of May 29, 2023.
“Biafrans from around the world congregated on different continents on May 29 and 30, 2023, to remember our lost heroes and heroines without harassment, but only in the zoo known as Nigeria were our people attacked, kidnapped, and slain.
On May 29, 2023, at Emene, Enugu State, “the Nigerian military combined squad attacked the peaceful Biafrans holding a candlelight service and offering prayers for the fallen Biafran heroes and heroines.
When the Nigerian troops stormed the meeting, the Biafrans were calmly praying.
