Michael Collins Ajereh, commonly known as Don Jazzy, a veteran Nigerian music producer, has advised Nigerian musicians to replicate Davido’s method in marketing their projects.
Davido has been on a media tour in the United States in support of his newly released fourth studio album, ‘Timeless,’ according to DAILY POST.
Don Jazzy praised the singer’s music promotion techniques for his current album and recommended other Nigerian talents to follow in his footsteps.
The Marvin chairman stated that Davido did not sit back because he was already a well-known musician, but instead fiercely promoted his record.
Don Jazzy said in a tweet on Monday, “Dear musicians, I hope you can see how Davido is selling his record.” He didn’t say, “Well, I’m OBO, so everyone will take my stuff.” Selling your gorgeous, hard-worked-on creation does not lessen your swag.”
According to DAILY POST, Davido’s ‘Timeless’ has broken streaming records since its release, including the highest charting album by an African artist on US Apple Music (peaked at Number 2), the first African album to reach Number 1 on US iTunes Albums Chart, and the largest album first-day streams in Audiomack history.
