Diptheria: NPHCDA Executive Director Visits Yobe and Assures Of Improved Support

Damaturu: Dr. Faisal Shuaib, Executive Director of NPHCDA, visited the Specialist Hospital Potiskum isolation centre today to end diptheria in Yobe State.

The Executive Director told reporters that “we visited, as part of the federal government delegation, the Diptheria Emergency Task Team, set up by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, to come and see for ourselves how the response to the Diptheria outbreak is being managed, and we’re here to Potiskum Specialist Hospital to see how all the responses

“So far, we’ve seen how the state government has set up an incident management system. They have an incident manager of the Diptheria Emergency Operation Center, and in this health facility, the Managing Director and all of the Consultants have provided leadership, there’s still a lot to be done in terms of providing medical intensive care, and the great thing we’ve seen there is a seamless approach to making sure that.

Dr. Ayuba Zakar, Managing Director of Specialist Hospital Potiskum, praised the team’s concern in his welcome address. He said Yobe State residents and those from Bauchi, Jigawa, and others use the facility.
