Cristiano Ronaldo, a football superstar, received a Guinness World Records certificate for being the first male player to make 200 appearances for his country.

Before to their Tuesday, June 20 match against Iceland, Guinness World Records honoured Ronaldo, who is 38 years old.

In order to further mark the occasion, he scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute of Portugal’s 1-0 victory against Iceland in European Championship qualification.

With 123 goals, he also holds the all-time scoring record for Portugal.

Ronaldo achieved victory in the Nations League in 2019 in addition to helping Portugal win the European Championship in 2016.

According to ESPN, Ronaldo said this before the match against Iceland: “Two hundred games played reflect the passion I have for my nation.”

“For me, it represents a crucial turning point.” That is significant. No men’s player has the lovely number [two hundred].

I’m really pleased since I never imagined I could do this. I’m still breaking records, too.

Ronaldo became the first male player to score in five World Cups during the World Cup in Qatar last year. He also has 10 international hat-tricks, which is the most in history.
