Buhari has arrived in Madinah on an important visit

Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of Nigeria has arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, to begin an eight-day official visit to the Middle-East Kingdom.

On Monday, the presidential plane carrying Buhari and several of his aides took off from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 9:10 a.m. and landed at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah about 17:00 p.m. local time.

While in Madinah, the president will do the five daily prayers and the Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi before traveling for Makkah via Jeddah late Wednesday for the shorter pilgrimage.

The president’s spokesperson, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed in a statement on Monday that this year’s official visit from April 11 to 19 would be Buhari’s final journey to the Kingdom as president.

According to NAN, the president last conducted Hajj in 2021.
