Nigerian media mogul Biola Alabi received the 2023 Diversity VC Unlocked Scholarship of 500 Global, a venture capital firm that empowers people and economies through entrepreneurship. The Stanford University Center for Professional Development hosts an invite-only program for aspiring venture capital executives.
Biola tweeted her pleasure upon receiving the scholarship. Stanford University academics and 500 global CEOs deliver live, interactive sessions over the two-week program.
Biola, a former M-Net Africa Managing Director, is the CEO of the Nigerian production company Biola Alabi Media (BAM). The media mogul invests in and advises African digital and media startups. She invests in Trove Technologies and Chekkit as a limited partner in many funds. She chairs Big Cabal Media and is a non-executive director at Unilever Nigeria PLC and Monty Mobile. Alabi wants varied and complex African female role models.
