LAGOS—Beulah World Initiative (BWI), a faith-based, non-profit, and non-governmental organization, recently stormed Balm of Gilead City, a campground of Church of God Mission International Incorporated (CGMi), on the outskirts of Sapele Road, Benin City, Edo State, for a Medical/Food Outreach in honour of Her Lordship, Archbishop Margaret Benson-Idahosa, who turned 80 on July 29, 2023.
The first female African Archbishop, Archbishop Margaret Idahosa, has a big heart and helps the needy. Consequently, the BWI Team honoured her remarkable legacies, largely impacted by her husband, Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa, of blessed memory.
Archbishop Margaret Idahosa welcomed the BWI Team to her home and thanked them, saying it warmed her heart to see so many people expressing their generosity during this season.
She said, “It feels so lovely to be loved while you are living! People usually honour the dead. God has blessed me.
I just came from a public talk at BIU in my honour. Several people from outside Benin attended the inspiring presentation. I was delighted.”
Her Lordship, Archbishop M. Benson-Idahosa, praised Beulah Global Initiative.
She added, “As you have honoured me, God will honour you; each one of the BWI Team will live longer than 80 years in Jesus’ name; the benefits I have poured out will locate each one of you individually.”
In her opening comments, BWI founder and organizer Ms. Chichi Ononiwu praised Archbishop Idahosa for her kind welcome and hospitality.
She said every team member anxiously anticipated this tailored outreach because they wanted to meet her.
She said, “Your position and your personality have inspired many women throughout the globe, particularly in Africa. Most women only dream of your power, boldness, and leadership.”
Ms. Ononiwu described the Archbishop poetically: “You are a calm Amazon, with a frail demeanour made in steel, a gentlewoman with a tremendous soul! You make leading women seem easy, mummy.”
She continued, “We are all pleased to be a part of your momentous day in no small measure, Mother! God will fulfill your days! You will outlast your doubters and thrive like a tree.”
The Archbishop praised each team member as they introduced themselves.
She returned to Balm of Gilead City the following day to watch the event and pray for the BWI Team.
Mission achieved as the celebrant, needy, and BWI Team celebrated in happiness.
“Nothing is as rewarding as making people happy,” Ms. Chichi Ononiwu said.
The outreach included vital signs, medical consultations, blood testing (including HIV and Syphilis), eye tests and treatment (including reading glasses), child deworming, food, clothing, and pesticides.
BWI’s objective is to promote health, leadership, and education in rural and sub-urban areas in Sub-Saharan Africa via Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), eradicating poverty, social change, and national development.
They relate to the UNDP participatory development directives and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) human development milestones.
