By overcoming Burkina Faso, the tactician hopes to advance the Golden Eaglets to the world championship of football. According to coach Nduka Ugbade, Nigeria is motivated by the desire to advance to the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup.

Following their 1-0 loss to Morocco, the Golden Eaglets defeated South Africa 3-2 in a thrilling five-goal game to go to the quarterfinals.

The West Africans are the U17 Africa Cup of Nations’ joint-most successful team, but they must overcome Burkina Faso to go to the final four.

The former Super Eagle has shown greater motivation than the Baby Stallions, even though they are competing for a third African championship.

According to Ugbade, “This game will be significant for us since it will qualify us for the World Cup.”

“Burkina Faso has a really excellent team, and when we played them before, it was a really challenging encounter for us. In the quarterfinal, we anticipate it to be the same,” Ugbade said.

“I highlighted to the players before the game that these competitions are often intense and that we must have the will to play the match as it should in order to qualify for the World Cup.”

Nigeria has won the global championship more times than any other team, five times in total, with their most recent victory coming at the 2015 Chilean edition.

They will face Senegal in the semifinals if they easily defeat Brahima Traore’s group at Nelson Mandela Stadium.

In their quarterfinal match against South Africa on Wednesday night, the Terranga Cubs easily defeated them 5-0.
