Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State recently conducted inspections on 26 ongoing road projects throughout the state, emphasizing the importance of timely completion for the public’s benefit.

These projects mainly involve the rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads and bridges damaged by flooding over the past two years. Governor Namadi expressed satisfaction with the quality of work at the sites and urged contractors to maintain a swift pace to ensure timely completion.

He reiterated the state’s commitment to patronizing companies that demonstrate seriousness and sincerity in their work, assuring prompt payment upon project completion while emphasizing adherence to contractual agreements regarding quality and timelines.

Governor Namadi pledged to ensure the completion of all ongoing road projects and to initiate new ones to enhance the movement of goods and services for social and economic development in Jigawa State.

The State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Gambo S Malam, provided further details, stating that the ongoing road projects cover a total distance of 360 kilometers. These efforts include rehabilitating and building new bridges. Measures have been implemented to mitigate future flood damage.

Contractors responsible for various road projects across the state’s 27 local government areas assured the governor of their commitment to delivering quality work within the specified timeframes.
