The Peoples Democratic Party and former vice president (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar encouraged Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to lead the Igbo nation to new heights.
He congratulated Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on his election as Ohanaeze N’digbo president-general.
Atiku congratulated Iwuanyanwu and called him a first-class statesman.
“Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is eminently positioned and qualified to lead the apex Ndigbo organisation at this time when the country is seeking national renewal in all areas.”
Atiku urged him to utilise his good offices to enhance national cohesion and Igbo unity like never before since the Nigerian civil war.
With his political grit and sagacity, which resonate across Nigeria, Atiku was optimistic that Iwuanyanwu would make the intended impact.
He said Iwuanyanwu’s “strong character and lovely heart” will lead to Igbo land’s transformation.
“I wish him well as he serves and leads his people to new heights,” Atiku said.
Iwuanyanwu was elected Ohanaeze Ndigbo president-general recently.
