Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s nominees for president and vice president, are now present at the ongoing presidential election tribunal.
Festus Keyamo, a former minister of state for labour and employment, is also in attendance at the tribunal and is participating as a lawyer on President Bola Tinubu’s legal team.

A petition was submitted by Obi and the Labour Party contesting Tinubu’s election as the All Progressives Congress candidate for president on February 25, 2023.

Livy Ozoukwu, the principal attorney for LP and Obi, claimed that Tinubu “was not legitimately elected by the majority of the lawful votes cast at the time of the election” in the petition with the file number CA/PEPC/03/2023.

They alleged, among other things, that vice president Kashim Shettima had received two nominations in violation of the electoral act.
