The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) submits crucial papers to the Nasarawa Governorship Election Tribunal on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu’s appeal and the PDP’s assertions are supported by certified copies of Polling Unit results (forms EC8As) and voters’ registrations.

Key witnesses’ testimony of election irregularities supported the Petitioners’ argument.

The Polling Unit Agent for Alwazan Polling Unit Code 009 testified that the PDP won his unit and that the results were appropriately posted on IReV. Form EC8B for Sabon Gari Ward in Doma Local Government Area mysteriously omitted these results (LGA).

The Petitioners’ ward collation Agent testified that Form EC8B, the ward summary, excluded the Alwazan Mada Polling Unit Code 009 result. He considered this omission illegal.

According to the collection Agent, the Petitioners won 35 Voting Units in Ashige Ward. The LGA Collation Center shockingly and unjustifiably cancelled the whole ward’s results.

As required by law, these results were not submitted into Form EC8C for Lafia LGA, leading to their unconstitutional omission from Form EC8D in the total vote calculation for the result declaration.

The petitioners’ witnesses cited election forms and evidence previously provided during their witness depositions.

After hearing four witnesses, the tribunal adjourned for the day. The hearing resumes on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
