As Napoli looks for a successor, Manchester United is getting closer to signing Victor Osimhen

Manchester United’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen has gained momentum as Napoli seeks a replacement, inching closer to a potential summer transfer.

Last summer, United secured the signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, but with Anthony Martial likely departing, reinforcements up front are essential. Should Martial leave, United would heavily rely on Hojlund, placing immense pressure on the youngster.

Reports suggest United is intensifying its pursuit of Osimhen, who has long been on their radar. Competition from Chelsea adds to the challenge despite Osimhen’s significant role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis admitted that Napoli seems prepared to part ways with Osimhen. They are reportedly eyeing Lille’s Jonathan David as a replacement, signaling Osimhen’s potential exit.

However, securing Osimhen will be challenging for United. Competing clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, offering Champions League football, pose a challenge, along with Osimhen’s hefty release clause of €130 million, which could strain United financially.

United faces a significant decision. While Osimhen could bolster their attacking threat, his cost may outweigh the benefits, considering other potential transfers linked to the club.
