Prince Arthur Eze, Atlas Oranto Petroleum Ltd. CEO and philanthropist contributed N100 million to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

On July 10, Eze told prominent Igbo lawmakers and stakeholders in the Imo State Government Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, that Ohanaeze Ndigbo was underfunded.

The oil magnate claimed the President General should not finance the main Igbo socio-cultural organization under Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

He said Iwuanyanwu had served the Igbo since the conflict.

He praised the President General’s ambition to improve Igbo land by utilizing its natural and creative resources.

He promised N100 million to Iwuanyanwu’s visionary leadership.

De. Alex Ogbonnia, Ohanaeze’s National Publicity Secretary, said on Monday that the benefactor delivered the money to Iwuanyanwu at his Abuja home the following day.

Prince Eze fulfilled the promise by visiting Iwuanyanwu in Abuja on July 11, 2023. Ogbonnia said Prince Eze informed Ahaejiagamba that he would continue to support the Iwuanyanwu-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Iwuanyanwu thanked Prince Eze, Imo governor Hope Uzodimma, previous governor Rochas Okorocha, and those who had helped Ohanaeze financially and physically.

Iwuanyanwu noted that Uzodimma was the lone Igbo senator who supported Ohanaeze.

Ogbonnia says the Ohanaeze has struggled with a paradox: it owes great service to the Igbo, yet few support it.

He described Prince Eze as “a trailblazer; a worthy Igbo son who is always actuated by a deep sense of empathy, affection, and overflowing kindness; and that he, Arthur, has served as a safety net for the vulnerable for a long time.” The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide was pleased with his donation.

Iwuanyanwu prayed that “the guardians of Angels may enclose Arthur; and that Arthur’s days may be long enough to see his great-great-grand-children in sound mind and stable physique.”
