APC elders reveal Diri’s plan to bring national leaders to Bayelsa for project inauguration.
The Bayelsa APC Elders Council discovered that Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri planned to bring high-ranking APC national leaders to inaugurate “substandard projects” as part of his desperate manipulative campaign strategy before the November 11 election.

Diri’s event schedule listed Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Senator Adams Oshiomhole as leaders he was inviting, according to APC elders.

Their intelligence showed the governor wanted to make it appear that President Bola Tinubu sent the APC leaders to the event, according to Elder Borchson Yengizifa, their secretary.

They advised Diri to abandon the manipulative strategy, saying the leaders and President Tinubu had openly supported APC governorship candidate Chief Timipre Sylva.

“This ill-conceived idea is to create an impression that these APC leaders were sent by our very dear President, H.E Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is untrue.

President Tinubu has publicly supported our candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva and the APC in Bayelsa State. In front of cameras at the Villa, President Tinubu raised Sylva’s hands and endorsed him for governor. Diri’s manipulation will fail.

“Our leaders, especially the Vice-President, won’t accept Diri’s Greek Gifts. Diri is trying to reap what he did not sow because he saw the APC’s widespread support from our people.

We defeated him by more than half of the votes in 2019, defeated his candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in that year’s presidential election, and did it again in 2023 when our dear President Sen. Bola Tinubu and his amiable vice-president, Kashim Shettima, won the election over Diri’s PDP and Abubakar. Diri fears for our party because he’s a veteran of losing to APC.

Yengizifa said no APC leader would be deceived into attending PDP campaigns posed as project inaugurations.
