Abuja On Monday, Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress, APC, assumed control of the organization.

The troubled Adamu has been embroiled in scandal since he did not back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the May 2022 presidential primaries.

He favoured Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, the previous president of the Senate.

The APC’s internal turmoil worsened the previous day, giving rise to conflicting claims of Adamu’s resignation.

The highest organ of the APC, the National Working Committee, is presided over by Kyari, putting an end to rumours of Adamu’s departure.

On Monday at 10:40 am, the Deputy National Chairman escorted a group of seven more NWC members to a meeting in his office while parking in the spot designated for the National Chairman.

Even though he is in the eye of the storm, Senator Iyiola Omisore, the APC’s national secretary, was seen at the meeting. He arrived at the party’s headquarters at about 11:20 am and joined the others there.

The National Vice Chairman for the North West, Salihu Lukman, the National Vice Chairman for the North East, Salihu Mustapha; the National Vice Chairman for the North Central, Muazu Bawa. The National Vice Chairman for the South West, Isaacs Kekemeke, the National Vice Chairman for the South East, Ejoroma Arodiogu, and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter, arrived with Kyari.
There is tension in and around the National Secretariat, and security personnel are watching everyone going by and entering the party grounds.
