The second installment of Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira in the UFC took place this past weekend, five months after their initial fight.
In November, the Brazilian star gave Izzy his second UFC defeat, claiming middleweight gold and ending The Last Stylebender’s 1,134-day reign.
The Nigerian successfully defended the championship five times, and Pereira’s Knockout win surprised many, so the fight only a few days ago was an opportunity for Adesanya to get retribution.
In the end, he was able to win and retain his championship in the second round, gaining his first career victory against his opponent.
The competition between Adesanya and Pereira
Let’s not forget that there has been a long-running rivalry.
It all started with a kickboxing match in April of 2016. Pereira won a unanimous decision in this fight. He also prevailed in their second kickboxing match, this time with a left hook in the third round.
But, it was here that Pereira’s kid did something that the current UFC middleweight champion would never forget.

Following Israel’s defeat, he was placed on the canvas and joined by his opponent’s child, who would get down on the mat to taunt the fallen Adesanya.
Therefore, following his championship triumph on April 8th, the now two-time winner was spotted gesturing to the audience before acting dead, a move subsequently revealed to be a mockery of what Pereira’s son did to him years earlier.
Many people were appropriately curious to see how Alex would react to Israel’s mocking of his son. Surprisingly, he remained cool about the situation.
He further asserted that if the positions had been reversed, he would have responded similarly.

“I’m not sure if I wouldn’t do the same.
“I know how to play with him, and I’ve always taunted him. There was something that took place. But I’m not sure, it’s another child since I’m not sure what his feelings were.
“I don’t know, it was seven years ago, he was going through it, and I witnessed his excitement after the knockout because it was his goal. That was his desire, and he achieved it, but we’re comparing him [his kid] to a five-year-old at the time, right? I don’t think like that.”
What comes next for Adesanya and Pereira remains to be known, but despite their animosity, the pair appears to have a lot of respect for one another, having had multiple memorable bouts over their respective careers.

After such a crucial victory, Adesanya opted to celebrate by pursuing Pereira’s kid, who was sitting nearby in the audience.

Pereira’s kid was spotted jumping for excitement in the audience when his father landed a knee to Adesanya’s chest. This, however, was only temporary.
Following The Last Stylebender’s stunning knockout of Pereira, published fan film from the event shows the latter’s son stuck like a statue in awe at what he had seen.
He turned his back on the warriors, unable to bear it, while Izzy performed his ice-cold “the hunter becomes the prey” celebration on his father, who lay lifeless on the floor.
Adesanya then turned his focus to Pereira’s son, singling him out by pointing at him from the Octagon and collapsing on the floor in a mocking manner, insulting the little child who did the same thing to him back in 2017.
Although we fans enjoyed every minute of this petty, karma-filled celebration, it appears Pereira’s kid did not!
The video shows him hiding in the throng, his arms across his head, unable to look at the man who had just knocked out his father.
Even if he didn’t see it on the night, there’s little question he’d seen it plenty of times by now, as the video has gone viral on social media.
Many people have been quick to feel sorry for Pereira’s youngster and criticize Adesanya’s pettiness after viewing this fresh fan clip.
