The 17th Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) convener, Mr. Festus Adebayo, stated this year’s forum would have a greater economic impact than expected.

In an interview with reporters, Adebayo said the meeting will help find the best housing and construction industry solutions.

He stated that CEOs and real estate developers might network and discuss housing, finance, construction, and real estate trends.

He added that AIHS has released its mobile app to alert participants before the event and that the venue will be opened two days early to allow booth installation.

“Monday, July 24, will feature very important personalities from across Africa and the world, and immediately after the opening ceremony, there shall be an all-important CEOs’ forum, which is a convergence of elite chief executives from Nigeria and across the world to devise the most effective solutions to the housing and construction industry’s challenges. He added CEOs can network and discuss housing, financing, construction, and real estate trends.

On the event’s second day, an international-finance panel will discuss how the International Financing Corporation IFC may help real estate developers build affordable housing.

IFC’s potential to finance Nigeria’s housing shortfall will be discussed. Edge building—or green housing—will also be discussed.

International experts will discuss how climate change affects affordable housing development.

The IFC edge building is a major AIHS 2023 partner.

The international platform of AIHS will offer certification to some organisations that have completed the Edge Building programme from different parts of Nigeria.”

The Center for Housing and Sustainable Development (CHSD) under Prof. Timothy GbengaNubi will power the University of Lagos’s master class. 18 UNILAG partners in livable city research and development will attend this workshop.

“This year’s AIHS participants will receive master class instruction and UNILAG certifications after many hours.”

Adebayo says the 17th AIHS will highlight worldwide housing success stories so people may learn, grow, and try new things.

He believed sharing experiences would help others learn better methods.

“Shared challenges teach others what not to do. “We may also highlight our local success stories,” he said.

Five top proptech businesses from Kenya, the US, Nigeria, and Canada will present.

This programme will include RSA home ownership appraisal.

PENCOM and MBAN will assist.

Adebayo noted that the housing forum will involve political appointees and freshly appointed policymakers.

Another expectation is that the Next Generation of Affordable Housing Leaders U-40 professionals meet up.

He continued, “This year’s AIHS will focus on the new generation of real estate professionals across the board who will take over the housing industry.”
