The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, has contacted a JICA mission team to discuss a cooperation to advance primary education in the region. The JICA team is in Kwara to investigate ways to assist the state in several areas, particularly in agriculture and education.
Due to its dedication to advancing basic education, Kwara has just been designated alongside FCT Abuja as a beneficiary state of JICA initiatives. The State Universal Basic Education Board, which is presided up by Prof. Raheem Adar-amaja, collaborates with the JICA team on basic education.
The governor stated his government has made significant investments in school infrastructure and human capital development during a courtesy visit from the JICA team. However, he added that further interventions are still needed to build on the sector’s progress.
He added that his administration’s attempts to raise the standard of teaching and learning outcomes in public schools are being supported by JICA’s offer of collaboration.
