Famous Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has reported himself, along with his attorney, to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja for attacking a police inspector.
You may remember that a viral Update showed the musician repeatedly slapping the Inspector on Saturday.
The Inspector of Police chose to remain silent and accept the assault instead of taking action.
Nigerians were outraged by the Revelation and demanded Kuti’s arrest and prosecution on social media.
Also, it was discovered that his attorney, Femi Falana, had said that his client would go to the police by himself today.
Kuti reported himself just moments ago, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, who tweeted the following: “Popular Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, in the early hours of today in the company of his lawyer and family representative.
He has been detained in accordance with the law.
“The Command acknowledges the public’s concern and assures that the continuing inquiry will be thorough, open, and professionally conducted; that justice will be clearly served for all persons involved,” they said.
As of the time of publication, Kuti was being questioned while being handcuffed.

Since then, he has been taken to the Lagos State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba, for questioning.
