During a closed-door meeting at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja today, 18th April 2023, National Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) delivered the following announcements about the inconclusive Adamawa Governorship Election.
The Commission deliberated on election-related issues and agreed to:
1. Write to the Inspector-General of Police requesting a prompt investigation and potential prosecution of the
Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari is the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State.
2. Request that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation bring the attention of the appointing authority to the REC’s unwholesome behavior for further action.
3. The collation procedure will restart at a time designated by the Returning Officer.
