All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Jesutega Onokpasa has raised concerns about election-related litigation, pointing out cases where parties appear willing to exploit the legal system. After CSU confirmed President Tinubu’s enrollment, he confronted Atiku Abubakar for using the deposition in court. He said he needed to determine what legal system they wanted us to follow nationwide.

In a TVC interview, Onokpasa said opposition lawsuits are a way to abuse the court process. He finds it unreasonable to question a university-awarded degree. He added that Atiku and Peter Obi’s actions suggest legal manipulation or court system strategies to achieve specific outcomes.

He said, “This entire election circle and this litigation have just brought a preponderance of litigants’ readiness to abuse the court process. You say someone forged a certificate, but the university said the person was our student, and we graduated him. How can we forget his degree? If you can get to the Supreme Court, no problem—the law says it can’t even assume original criminal jurisdiction. If you can succeed, go for it. These people want us to practise what law in this country?”
