Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, a former head of state of Nigeria, has asked Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unite the nation as he assumes the reins of power.
Babangida advised Nigerians to exercise patience with the incoming administration under Tinubu yesterday while speaking on Arise Television, saying that Tinubu has the essential abilities to lead the nation.
According to Babangida, Tinubu is an extremely skilled politician who needs to use his abilities to bring a deeply divided society together.
“He must mobilise Nigeria’s global and domestic powerhouses in business to solve the country’s economy and realign the armed forces.
The armed forces have experienced a lot of procedures that need to be put together and made more efficient, so as Commander-in-Chief, he needs to take a close look at them to reorientate, retrain, and reorganise them.
“Good luck to the incoming administration. Let them prioritise Nigeria and Nigerians’ well-being above anything else. There needs to be more leadership at all levels.
The only recommendation is to exercise patience and support the new administration while continuing to call out when something goes wrong.
