A Villarreal attacker who was hurt while serving in the military is questionable for the match against Almeria

Sunday’s match against Almeria will be Villarreal’s first under new head coach Pacheta, who was hired last weekend after Quique Setien was fired, according to football-espana.
Villarreal have lost three of their first four matches (W1). They hope to start their campaign against Almeria, and Pacheta has an almost full roster.

MD reported that Ben Brereton Diaz did not train on Thursday after sustaining muscle discomfort during his international exploits with Chile so he may miss Sunday’s match.

Brereton Diaz has started slowly after joining Villarreal as a free agent from Blackburn Rovers in the summer. He has only started one match (vs. Mallorca) and hopes the numbers improve under Pacheta.

If Brereton Diaz is out, Yeremy Pino will likely start for Villarreal against Almeria. It highlights the Groguets’ depth, crucial for next week’s Europa League adventures.
