For the most skips on one foot in 30 seconds, Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old Nigerian student at Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, has been named the Guinness World Record holder.
Four months after his attempt, the boy who skipped 153 times in 30 seconds on January 24, 2023, was named the current record holder on Tuesday by the Guinness World Records.
His accomplishment surpassed the previous record holder, Rasel Islam of Bangladesh, who skipped on one foot 145 times in 2021. Guinness World Records claims that Solomon was motivated to break the record after seeing an update on the previous holder’s effort. They also mentioned Philip’s preparation for the record-breaking attempt.
Solomon claimed that fellow Nigerian Gbenga Ezekiel, whose 265 skips on one leg in a minute set a world record in February, was his inspiration.
